The chemical name of doxorubicin is 10-[(3-amino-2,3,6-trideoxy-α-L-lysopyranyl)-oxy]-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro -6,8,11-Trihydroxy-8-(glycolyl)-1-methoxy-5,12-napedione hydrochloride, also known as adriamycin hydrochloride. Pure doxorubicin is an orange-red freeze-dried powder that is soluble in water and has a melting point of 216°C. Doxorubicin Chemicalbook (ADM), also known as adriamycin, is commonly used in clinical chemotherapy for human cancer. Doxorubicin is a chemical semi-synthetic anthracycline anti-tumor antibiotic. Like daunorubicin and other anthracyclines, doxorubicin can intercalate and bind to cell DNA and affect DNA synthesis. It is commonly used in the treatment of various cancers, such as hematological malignancies, solid tumors and soft tissue sarcomas. In clinical human medicine, it is usually combined with other drugs to treat tumors. |
