CAS NO : 6487-48-5 EC NO : 209-506-8;209-506-8 MF : K2C2O4 MW : 166.2 Specification : White Powder Packing : 500g/bottle Product description : In vacuum blood collection, there are many reagents that can be added, such as serum separation gel, anticoagulants, coagulants, etc. Among them, anticoagulants include heparin series and EDTA series products. However, in addition to these series of anticoagulants, there is also an anticoagulant called "potassium oxalate", which is relatively rare but widely used. Few people in daily life know its anticoagulant principle as an anticoagulant, so here we will focus on introducing it. In fact, the obvious advantage of potassium oxalate as an anticoagulant is its solubility. After blood collection, potassium oxalate in the test tube dissolves and separates oxalate ions, which react with calcium ions in the blood sample to form calcium oxalate precipitates, thereby achieving anticoagulant effects. Using potassium oxalate for anticoagulation is usually done at a concentration of 0.1mol/L in a blood ratio of 1:9. However, due to the high concentration of potassium and sodium ions, it is easy to cause dehydration and shrinkage of blood cells, and ammonium ions can cause blood cell swelling. Therefore, when measuring hematocrit without interference with the shape and volume of red blood cells, the potassium oxalate anticoagulant must be properly mixed with the blood ratio in the test tube. However, it should be noted that although potassium oxalate is often used in blood testing, it cannot be used to determine all components in the blood. Therefore, it is not suitable for the determination of potassium and calcium ions, as well as for blood smear testing, and cannot be used for white blood cell and platelet counting, as it can cause aggregation of small blood plates and affect the morphology of white blood cells. The potassium oxalate produced by Desheng is in powder form and is prepared into a 0.2ml volume, 10% concentration solution and added to a test tube. It is not necessary to place the test tube directly. Next, gently tap the test tube until the solution is evenly distributed around the tube wall, and then dry the test tube with a uniform solution in an oven below 80 ℃. At this point, the drying temperature in the oven should not be too high. If it is too high, it will cause potassium oxalate to decompose into potassium carbonate, thereby losing its anticoagulant effect. Therefore, it is necessary to control the temperature well. In routine blood testing and analysis, potassium oxalate is commonly used as an anticoagulant added to test tubes. Freshly collected blood samples can usually be stored for one year at temperatures below -20 ℃. Desheng Biochemical has been producing blood vessel additives for 17 years. As an established manufacturer, we prioritize customer interests and strictly control quality. Currently, we have a large number of serum separation gels, anticoagulants, and coagulants for sale, widely used in clinical medicine and in vitro diagnostic reagents, and have received praise from multiple partners.
