Category : Others
CAS NO : 68399-80-4 EC NO : 269-992-2 MF : C7H17NO6S MW : 243.278 Specification : White Powder Packing : 500g/bottle Product description : The Chinese name of DIPSO is 3- [N, N-bis (hydroxyethyl) amino] -2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid, also known as 3-bis (2-hydroxyethyl) amino-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid. DIPSO white crystal powder is almost insoluble in organic solvents involved in biochemical reactions, and its solubility does not change with temperature. It is in a 20 ℃ aqueous solution with a saturation of 0.1M, and the colorless and transparent solution is acidic. Dissolve it into a buffer solution, which can adjust the pH of the solution within the range of 7.0-8.2. In terms of molecular structure, DIPSO is a dipole ion buffer and has a dihydroxyethylamino group. Therefore, it is biologically classified as a series of buffer agents belonging to the bis (2-hydroxyethyl) amine family. DIPSO can form complexes with various metals and precipitate, so it is not suitable for biological research environments that require metal ions. For example, in cell culture media that require metal cations, DIPSO cannot be used to stabilize the pH value. In the experiment of separating and purifying proteins using chromatography, in order to avoid changes in pH value affecting ionizable compounds and subsequently affecting protein separation, DIPSO buffer is commonly used to maintain the pH of the system at a relatively constant value. DIPSO buffer is also commonly used in electrophoretic technology, which maintains the pH value of the solution while the current passes through the experimental substance and provides the ions required for migration in electrophoretic experiments. In biochemical research, the use of a buffer solution can limit the pH regulation range of the buffer system. Therefore, new buffers such as DIPSO, HEPES, and MOPS are often combined to form a new buffer to regulate the acidity and alkalinity of the solution. The pH high activity range of the combined buffer is larger, thereby reducing the concentration required when using the buffer alone and reducing the potential toxicity of the buffer to biochemical substances.
